Frank Brennan, SJ, Boston College Gasson Chair, Professor of Law, Australian Catholic University and Adjunct Professor at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture and The Australian National University College of Law and National Centre for Indigenous Studies. Office of the Order of Australia for services to Aboriginal Australians, Chaired the Australian National Human Rights Consultation Committee.

Respondent: Professor Margaret Somerville, McGill University, Director, Center for Law, Ethics and Medicine Professorships in both the Faculty of Law where she holds the Samuel Gale Chair and the Faculty of Medicine. She was the founding director of the McGill Centre for Medicine, Ethics, and Law.
