Letter from Lemuel Shaw to Charles Bulfinch, August 28, 1800

Abstract

Lemuel Shaw wrote this letter to Charles Bulfinch, Chairman of the Boston School Committee, seeking a position at the South Reading School (later the Franklin School). Shaw had recently graduated from Harvard. He obtained the position and held it for one year, before beginning a law apprenticeship with David Everett.
