Abstract
Thomas F. (Tim) Cullen, Jr., a Jones Day partner and practice leader of that Firm's Global Disputes Practice, visited the law school on January 28 to deliver the 2014 inaugural Global Practice Forum Lecture.
BC Law's Global Practice Forum is a lecture series meant to highlight the school's focus on global initiatives. The school recently launched its Global Practice Program (GPP), a new initiative that includes BC Law's long-running London Program, the International Human Rights Semester in Practice, Immigration Externship Program, and the new Sorbonne JD/LLM Program, a collaborative effort with the Sorbonne Law School of the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world. Only a handful of U.S. schools have a joint degree program with the Sorbonne, putting participating students into a select group of global practitioners. BC Law plans to add new international practice partnerships and opportunities to the GPP in the coming months, including programs in Australia and Latin America.
